Sex and the City!

The Heart of the Matter
Don Henley / The End of the Innocence

I got the call today, I didn't wanna hear
But I knew that it would come
An old, true friend of ours was talkin' on the phone
She said you found someone
And I thought of all the bad luck
And the struggles we went through
And how I lost me and you lost you
What are those voices outside love's open door
Make us throw off our contentment
And beg for something more ?

I'm learning to live without you now
But I miss you sometimes
The more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought I knew, I'm learning again
I've been tryin' to get down
To the heart of the matter
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore

These times are so uncertain
There's a yearning undefined
People filled with rage
We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive in such a graceless age ?
The trust and self-assurance that lead to happiness
They're the very things we kill, I guess
Pride and competition
Cannot fill these empty arms
And the work I put between us
Doesn't keep me warm

I'm learning to live without you now
But I miss you, baby
The more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought I'd figured out
I have to learn again
I've been trying to get down
To the heart of the matter
But everything changes
And my friends seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore

There are people in your life who've come and gone
They let you down and hurt your pride
Better put it all behind you, life goes on
You keep carryin' that anger, it'll eat you up inside

I've been trying to get down
To the heart of the matter
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me

I've been tryin' to get down
To the heart of the matter
Because the flesh will get weak
And the ashes will scatter
So I'm thinkin' about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me

What I'm Made Of

This past month has truly been the most difficult I think I've been thru so far in my life.  I've realized I've lived a sheltered life.  Always being protected, loved, guided.  Now I'm out here in this world on my own, and I've gotten heart break, conned, and hated on.  What a month? lol  I'm trying not to focus on these negatives, so I laugh at myself cuz that's the only thing I can do.  But you know what's funny, thru all these things that have gotten me down, cried, on my way to becoming cynical about the world and people, I know I'm a good person and I don't want to stay down, cry, or be cynical about anything.  I want to live with integrity, honesty, and full of light that when I smile it isn't fake or tainted.  And I can still say no matter what, I'm still smiling,,,and I mean it too.  You should see me. lol It's soo easy to be mad, upset, ask why me?,,,but I'm kinda blessed to get these lessons of being more aware of my surroundings, let people earn my trust, don't just divulge everything to everyone, keep the tru people in my life close, and hold myself even closer.  I can only fully know what I'm thinking, feeling, my intentions in this world.  Karma is a kicker.

Ode to a GREAT Man!

You are my rock
My protector
My best friend
You are the light of my life that I followed through the darkness
Life wouldn't be the same without you
You're truely amazing
I've never met someone like you
I amire you, I adore you, and am always astonished by your grace
Your sensitivity is beautiful
You will always be in the deepest part of me,
You've helped me grow
I hope we can heal and be there for eachother always
You are love, you are loved, and you will always be the love of my life.

LOVIN ME,,,

Cryin in the shower
Coming to realizations
How'd I go so long not lovin me
Getting caught up
Lookin to the outside world for answers, instant gratification
When all the time those answers were and are in me
Opening the door to truths that I had the key to the whole time
Always in my possession
Getting it from others is nice
But still not feeling complete
The world is in me
I'm telling me, Love me, Respect me, Adore me
Smile mama, enjoy the journey and love you

Cinco de Mayo

Yesturday was a beautiful day in NYC. I met up with my homegirl and went to Central Park to sit on the Great Lawn. While I was waiting for her outside the Columbus Circle stop in the round, I told myself,, NYC is a place where a bum, a socialite, models, skateboarders, college students, professionals on their lunch break, mothers with their babies, and me, can sit in a circle and soak up the same sun for free and not be judged. It was amazing. I always go back to quality of life and what kind I want,,,and sitting on that lawn in the park, which I've never done in my 27 years here, was a great glimpse of future days to come. O,,and I can't forget the Carosel ride at the end to Mary Poppins playing in the background,,,I felt like a kid again. It was a great day! Thanks Friends.

Something to think about,,,

No one falls in love by choice,
It is by chance
No one stays in love by chance,
It is by work
No one falls out of love by chance
It is by choice
